Is it painful?
Our strict safety policies ensure everyone’s safety.
Our minimum shooting distance of 30ft
prevents the agonising welts you can receive at some
establishments. The paint balls break on impact and
there may sometimes be a slight stinging sensation for a
short period.
Is it safe?
Safety is paramount at Westport Wargames, Management
reserve the right to exclude any player who they deem to
be a possible risk to themselves or others at any time.
We have held an exemplary safety
record for over 16 years.
There are at the very
least two Irish Red Cross
approved First Aiders on the
premises at all times during sessions.
Do I need
special clothing/footwear?
You don’t need any
special clothing. Comfortable clothing with long sleeves
and long trousers are the most sensible, tracksuits are
ideal! A pair of runners or hiking boots provide ideal
footwear. Most of our playing areas have all weather
surfaces.
Do I
have to be physically fit?
Not at all! Play to your own fitness level. We have
no upper age limit and regularly accommodate players of
retirement age and over . There are breaks between games
and each player will settle in to their own level of
participation whether it be all out battle or a little
more laid back!
Do you
have insurance?
Westport Wargames have full public liability
insurance and a certificate of which available upon
request.
How
long does it take?
Most of our sessions include a minimum of three
hours playing time. You need to allow around an hour on
top of this to allow for kitting up safety instructions
and paying for ammunition etc. Please telephone 098
21886 for exact timings.
Do I
change when I get there?
We advise all players to arrive in the clothes and
footwear they intend to play in as this saves time on
arrival and means you get to play sooner!
I wear
glasses is this a problem?
Glasses should fit comfortably under the facemask;
it is also safe to wear contact lenses.
Can I
use my own marker?
Unfortunately our insurance only permits our own
markers to be
used on site
